Brett Helquist has to be my all-time favourite illustrator since, in 2003, the moment I saw A Series of Unfortunate Events: the fifth book The Austere Academy at Whitcouls on Queen st.
I love the style he draws people, all angled and skinny, and the way he depicts surroundings, making the three orphans all vulnerable, as they are. Anyone who's seen my drawings would know why I like him so much, his stuff is all straight edged and precise. He is a part of the reason why I bought the whole series consisting of thirteen books Tee hee. And the one about Vermeer.
I vant more of his works yay !
